jacket makeover
I had been eyeing some military jackets at Forever 21 for awhile now but then I saw this idea to make your own! I realized I had this old jacket my mom gave me about 5 years ago that I was never crazy about. And I had some trim in my sewing drawer that would be perfect. I forgot to take before pictures because I'm not a very good blogger but I remembered an old campout in college where the jacket had been worn by my wonderful best friend Erin (we were roommates all through college and frequently borrowed each other's clothes). To my delight, there were lovely pictures of both her and the jacket on Facebook. They absolutely needed to be shared here:
How accommodating of her to model the jacket so that three and a half years later, I could show you the before:
Oh I love her. And to be fair, here's one of both of us looking ridiculous (and this time I'm wearing the jacket):
So now you know what the jacket looked like before I took my glue gun to it. Here is the after:
I just cut up some braided trim and glued it to the collar, shoulders, and sleeves. And now I could fit into any marching band I please!

HOLY CRAP!!?? Krista - I'm VERY impressed.
I just have to say, I love you and Erin. Seeing college pics of you made me happy. And cute jacket!
Oh my gosh I love it! I love how you did the horizontal stripes instead of curving the trim, seriously looks great. Also, I had no idea you were LDS, it's one of my favorite things ever to meet other fashion bloggers that actually wear modest clothes too!
You have such a great eye for fashion, Krista. You should come visit us in Italy. You'd fit right in!
wow that is so awesome! love the "new" jacket :)
