My father-in-law has the most beautiful backyard with zillions of edible things growing in it. I took advantage of his grape arbor for these pictures and engaged my sister-in-law Rachel to shoot them (giving Sam a well-deserved break). I had the most splendid Christmas at my in-laws in California. I feel extraordinarily blessed having married into that family. Sam has four siblings and two of them were there with us, along with one sister-in-law and of course, Sam's parents. They feel just like home to me. How many people can say that about their in-laws? I had the grandest time.
Sam and I spent the last evening of our vacation in a cozy snow-bound lodge just the two of us to celebrate our anniversary and there is no better company than my own dear man, after all. In case you wondered.
It is nice to be home, however. Just in time to ring in another new year and simultaneously take down our Christmas tree. I'm determined to do better than last year, when our tree may or may not have stayed up until February... ahem. There's my resolution.

Oh, Krista, you are making me homesick!
I was just thinking about how lovely it was to have you here. Samuel is one lucky man!
Cute!! Love your hair.
I agree completely with everything said concerning your family, excepting that Samuel is the best company (my taste leans more towards the older brother-type). But, he's fantastic surely!
Okay, I've just spent a few minutes (re)looking through your pics. You are seriously such a style queen! I'm inspired right and left and right again. Thank you. Really. Love your blog.

Krista, I'm pretty sure we own the same boots, which makes me really happy since I'm in love with them. And if you are wearing them, that means I'm in style!
