Last weekend I went to a bridal fair with my recently engaged sister-in-law. I was doling out wise advice and generally acting world-weary the whole time, whilst nibbling at sample cupcakes and sipping italian sodas. I love weddings but I am so glad that mine is over. Planning a wedding is nothing but fun as long as it's not your own. I loved being able to ooh and aah at the pretty things at the bridal fair without having to answer any of the vendors' questions as I was not the bride. There was no trying to please everyone or worrying about time constraints or budgets or the groom getting cold feet and ditching at the last minute... Not that anything like that happened at mine, but I'm still glad Sam is already stuck with me and there's nothing he can do about it.
I think that perhaps I should enter one of those contests where they give away a $50k wedding and then I'll just plan a giant party that I'll call my "wedding." I'll wear a new dress and have cake and flowers and Sam and I will kiss in front of all our loved ones and I'll have all the fun of another wedding without any of the stress or the bother of getting a new groom. Because I like the one I have, you know.

Amen, planning a wedding was not fun. Except for trying on dresses, I did like that.
Love this! And I didn't plan my own wedding so I wouldn't know.
That was great! I feel the same way. The planning of my own wedding is a stressful blur, but helping my sister plan her's was a blast.
BTW... Love the party idea! ;D
